The attainment of a recognised standard for quality in both service and product is demanded by the ever more complex requirements of our customers. Whether they are of a regulatory nature or influenced by market forces.

In order to accommodate the complex and often rapid changes in regulation and outlets, great importance has been given to ensuring that the biosolids products we manufacture and sell in the market place are not only safe to use, and good value for money, but are of a recognised quality standard. They are traceable back to the point of production by an accredited Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) system and capable of meeting strict audit standards laid down by our regulators.

To arrive at this position, it was necessary to align the whole of the production and recycling of biosolids, in order to meet the requirements for quality and environmental management. The Anglian Water biosolids recycling team holds both ISO 9002 and 1400 certificates, which makes them unique in comparison with any other water company in the UK.

In order to do this, we changed the perception of the product in the eyes of the customer from a waste, given away with little thought of its benefits, into a valuable replacement for inorganic fertiliser with excellent soil conditioning properties.
